Overview

Gameplay in A Way Out's split-screen co-op renders natively in hor+ at 21:9, per PCGamingWiki, but cutscenes are primarily windowboxed (boxed on all sides) and occasionally letterboxed rather than filling the ultrawide frame, which is why cutscene support is marked pillarboxed rather than ultrawide. No Flawless Widescreen module exists for this game (absent from the current repo XML) and no dedicated mod fix was found beyond a community tip to use Windows Magnifier during cutscenes, so 32:9 is rated only partial given the split-screen layout and unconfirmed behavior beyond 21:9.

Patch history & verification

current buildSep 21, 2026
Verified via PCGamingWiki Video section that gameplay is native hor+ ultrawide with windowboxed/letterboxed cutscenes, citing the referenced YouTube demonstration. Confirmed no A Way Out entry exists in the live Flawless Widescreen repo XML. Could not find independent 32:9-specific testing (e.g. WSGF or a super-ultrawide review), so 32:9 support is conservatively rated 'partial' rather than 'native'.
