Overview
FFXIV is one of the better-behaved MMOs on a 32:9 screen: gameplay, the fully-customizable HUD Layout editor, and most UI windows render correctly across the full width with no stretching. The persistent complaint, still open on the official forums as of 2026, is that real-time in-engine cutscenes are locked to a 16:9 window with black bars filling the rest of the screen. There's no fix for this because Square Enix has never added the option and no client-side mod exists for an always-online MMO.
