Overview

Wolfenstein II supports 21:9 natively with Hor+ scaling (WSGF Gold), with in-engine cutscenes following the wider aspect and pre-rendered video staying a fixed aspect. At launch the engine only accepted aspect ratios below 3.0, which blocks 32:9 (3.56); the Flawless Widescreen plugin by HaYDeN removes that limit, and PCGamingWiki and WSGF still point to it for wide multi-monitor setups. Could not confirm whether a later patch lifted the limit, so 32:9 is marked as needing the fix; HUD anchoring and menu layout are lower confidence.

Patch history & verification

Steam current buildSep 19, 2026
Checked PCGamingWiki (ultrawide true, WSGF Gold, FOV 70-120, FWS for multi-monitor), WSGF page (Hor+ native, HUD optimized, surround stretched without FWS), WSGF forum post that the game enforced aspect >1.0 and <3.0 and the FWS fix removes it, and FWS repo (module WolfensteinII, release 1). Whether a later game patch removed the limit, and the exact HUD/menu behaviour, were not confirmed. Not to be confused with Wolfenstein: The New Order/Old Blood, which have separate FWS modules.
