Overview

Dead Space 2 (the 2011 original, not the 2023 remake) natively supports ultrawide resolutions with a WSGF Gold widescreen award and a Silver multimonitor award; gameplay renders Hor+ with correct FOV and no black bars, confirmed by a real 2560x1080 gameplay video. WSGF rates its native ultrawide/32:9 support only 'incomplete', and menus are not built for ultrawide (they stay 16:9-centered rather than stretching), so 32:9/surround users may see menu layout oddities even though gameplay itself scales correctly. No Flawless Widescreen module exists for this game (confirmed absent from the current FWS public repo XML), and there is no dedicated ultrawide fix mod needed since the base game already handles the aspect ratio.

Fixes

No known fix yet.

32:9 gameplay is playable but rated only partial by WSGF; the community tools available adjust FOV or controller support rather than directly fixing 32:9 behavior.

Patch history & verification

Initial verificationSep 22, 2026
Confirmed via PCGamingWiki that ultrawide resolution is natively supported (WSGF Gold/Silver awards) and via a real gameplay video that 2560x1080 renders correctly in Hor+. Confirmed via the current Flawless Widescreen fws_repo.xml that no Dead Space module exists (searched full repo text, zero matches), so flawless_widescreen_status is set to not-supported rather than recommended. Could not find independent confirmation of true 32:9/5760x1080 behavior beyond WSGF's 'incomplete' rating for ultrawidescreen award, hence support_32_9 is conservatively marked partial rather than native.
