Overview

Dota 2 supports ultrawide resolutions for gameplay (Hor+, wider camera view, WSGF gold for widescreen) with no black bars, but the HUD, shop panel, and minimap are known to stretch or scale incorrectly at 21:9 and especially 32:9, per both Valve's own GitHub bug tracker and long-running Steam forum reports. WSGF rates Dota 2's ultrawide support only 'incomplete' for this reason. No currently-maintained fix could be confirmed; older community HUD-scale addons predate the Source 2 rewrite and their compatibility with the current client is unverified.

Fixes

No known fix yet.

Gameplay itself renders correctly in Hor+ at ultrawide resolutions (WSGF gold for widescreen resolution support), but the HUD, shop, and minimap stretch/scale incorrectly at wide aspect ratios per Valve's own bug tracker; older community HUD-scale add-ons from the original Source engine era could not be confirmed to still work on the current Source 2 client.

Patch history & verification

current live Source 2 clientSep 22, 2026
Confirmed via Valve's own GitHub issue tracker and Steam Community that HUD/shop/minimap scaling problems at ultrawide are a known, still-open issue; could not confirm a specific current patch number or that any community HUD fix still works on today's client, so no fix is recommended.
