Guacamelee! 2 runs at 16:9 by default with black bars at wider aspects out of the box. PCGamingWiki and a WSGF thread describe an unofficial fix: unpacking the Steam executable with Steamless and hex-editing specific bytes with HxD to force the aspect ratio, which requires editing the executable directly, so I rate confidence as moderate and safety as unknown since it modifies the exe.
