Overview
Nine Sols does not officially support ultrawide — PCGamingWiki marks ultrawidescreen as 'hackable' and Steam discussion threads confirm the 2.5D side-scroller is locked to 16:9 with black bars on wider displays. The community fix by p1xel8ted (v0.1.3) unlocks resolution selection, fixes edge culling and background scaling, and was tested at 3440x1440 (21:9); I could not find confirmation it was specifically tested at 32:9/5120x1440, so 32:9 is rated conservatively rather than assumed identical.

Fix v0.1.3Sep 22, 2026
Confirmed lack of native support via PCGamingWiki ('ultrawidescreen = hackable') and Steam Community threads; verified the p1xel8ted/UltrawideFixes GitHub release (version 0.1.3, tested at 3440x1440, F1 in-game config menu). Menu/cutscene ultrawide behavior after applying the fix was not explicitly documented in the release notes, so those fields are left at the conservative pillarboxed default.
