Rain World's native options menu only offers resolutions with a height of 768px and no ultrawide support out of the box. The Sharpener Steam Workshop mod unlocks custom render resolutions (including ultrawide aspect ratios) and is a well-known, actively used Steam Workshop item, so I rate the fix as safe, but it is still a third-party mod rather than native support.
