Overview
Sea of Stars is marked 'hackable' (not native) for ultrawide on PCGamingWiki: without a fix it renders as a fixed-camera 2D pixel-art scene scaled from 640x360, effectively pillarboxed at wider aspect ratios. The p1xel8ted UltrawideFixes mod (mirrored on Nexus Mods) forces the resolution and repositions the HUD via keypad hotkeys, but its own GitHub issue tracker documents real bugs at ultrawide, including a black-screen issue in a late-game boss fight and odd text/UI positioning, so this is rated a working-but-imperfect fix rather than excellent.

Patch history & verification
current live buildSep 23, 2026
Confirmed 'ultrawidescreen = hackable' status and the linked fix directly from PCGamingWiki's wikitext, then verified the fix repo and read its open issues on GitHub, which show known ultrawide-specific bugs (black screen, UI placement) rather than a flawless fix.
