Out of the box, What Remains of Edith Finch shows black bars on any non-16:9 resolution. A WSGF Duke Report gives it Gold for basic widescreen support but only a lower grade for multi-monitor/ultra-widescreen, confirming ultrawide is not clean native support. A community-made replacement game executable (via PCGamingWiki Community Files) removes the black bars, but it requires swapping the game's .exe file, so I mark the fix source as a mod rather than a simple config edit and treat its safety as unknown.
