Overview
FFXV Windows Edition natively supports ultrawidescreen resolutions (PCGamingWiki confirms "ultrawidescreen = true") with a properly centered, hor-plus HUD at both 21:9 and 32:9, no mod required. The only caveat is that some in-game and pre-rendered cutscenes are explicitly documented as pillarboxed at wider-than-16:9 aspect ratios, so it is rated good rather than excellent; multi-monitor/Surround setups are separately flagged as "limited" (spanned HUD) which does not apply to single-panel 21:9/32:9 displays.

Fixes
No known fix yet.
Some in-game and pre-rendered cutscenes are baked at 16:9 and stay pillarboxed at 21:9/32:9; this is a content limitation of the pre-rendered footage, not a configurable setting, and no mod is known to fix it.
Patch history & verification
current Windows Edition Steam buildSep 22, 2026
Confirmed native 21:9/32:9 support and the cutscene-pillarboxing caveat directly from PCGamingWiki's Video infobox, and confirmed via a WSGF forum thread and a YouTube demonstration that multi-monitor/Surround is separately limited. No dedicated ultrawide-cutscene fix mod could be found, so recommended_fix is left null per the no-fix rule.
