Overview

Bayonetta ships anamorphic 16:9 with black bars by default, but a simple registry tweak (DisableAspectLock.reg) removes the bars for any aspect ratio including 21:9 and 32:9, and WSGF gave it a silver Ultrawidescreen award for the result. Gameplay expands hor-plus correctly once unlocked, but some UI elements (like the pre-boss book graphic) can appear off-center or distorted unless jackfuste's companion HUD-centering fix is also applied, and FMV cutscenes stay pillarboxed at 16:9 regardless.

Confirmed via PCGamingWiki wikitext and WSGF page that the aspect-lock registry unlock plus jackfuste's community HUD fix is the standing method for 21:9/32:9; cross-checked with wccftech article and a Steam discussion thread. Could not independently confirm exact current menu-distortion severity on 32:9 (PCGW notes are 21:9-focused).
